Altra - Superior 3.5 Zero Drop Trail Lady - Grey Purple
These size up very small so advice: buy at least a size to a full size larger than your normal shoe size (eg. if you are 6.5 - 7 then order 7.5)
Award-winner and trail crusher, the Superior has long been a fan-favorite. With the 3.0 version the reinforcements in the upper were a huge success so we added even more! We also included our new 4-Point GaiterTrap™ to keep more debris, dirt and sand out as you shred the trail. The DuraTread outsole is both nimble and tough so you can run over gnarly terrain with confidence and finesse
Places your heel and forefoot the same distance from the ground to promote low-impact technique, naturally align body posture and strengthen lower leg muscles weakened from running on elevated heels.
Conquer the gnarly terrain with our TrailClaw outsole technology. Our trail shoes feature canted lugs positioned beneath the metatarsals to provide traction where your foot needs it most. Each lug is strategically placed to ensure fast uphill climbs, stable descents and superior traction across muddy trails.
FIT4HER GENDER SPECIFIC DESIGN
Women's feet are anatomically different than men's feet. Women have a narrower heel and mid foot, higher instep, longer arch and unique metatarsal spacing. The Fit4Her technology means we customize every women's shoe to the unique shape of the female foot .
This innovative hook-and-loop tab conveniently secures your trail running gaiters to the shoe without having to strap them below the outsole. This prevents annoying debris from building up beneath the shoe.
Durable outsole rubber made to last long and offer great grip on both tame and technical terrain.
Sandwiched between the A-Bound and EVA midsoles, StoneGuard offers flexible protection from the rugged terrain by deflecting rocks into the midsole for a smooth, stable ride.
FOOTSHAPE™ TOE BOX
Allows the toes to relax and spread out naturally and the big toe to remain in a straight position for more stability and a powerful toe-off to maximize running performance.
Altra Zero Drop recommends that those new to natural running and zero-drop footwear transition slowly by wearing these on shorter runs and gradually building up to regular mileage. Here is a link which may or may not be of interest to you if you are a runner. The movie is all about running in a more natural way and teaches you how to not rely on the cushions within modern footwear but to take a more holistic approach to using our on board human springs.
If you land on your heels no matter how much the shoe salesman tells you the shoe is protecting you, it isn't. The shoe will only ever remove a maximum of 10% of the shock of landing. If you land on your foot as this movie shows you will reduce the shock to your joints by up to 75%.
The running shoe industry is no more interested in your health than the tobacco industry is!! Fact.....they are interested in selling you more shoes and the quicker you wear your new shoe out the quicker you spend again. If you learn to land more gently, and I'm not saying this is a quick fix, you will make your joints last longer and your footwear will have an infinite lifespan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVxY8Wh8I90
Please be patient if you are new to bare/natural running as your body will take time and injury during its adaptation process. The job you must do is manage the aches in a manner which does not allow them to compound leading to persistant injury. You have to be committed if you want to run like a human using the body to its most effective.
I promise if you stay the course, run the correct distance, listen to your body, you will be my best friend forever once the transition is complete...please allow from 6 months to 3 years and remember, some people adapt at a faster rate than others so listen to your body.....you are in control....do not fall into the mass runner market of blaming the footwear for all your mistakes!! You were not born with shoes on , you dysevolved into the use of footwear and now you have to undo a lifetimes work which took you onto the path of dysevolution.
